About me

Deeside Stitches is an independently owned small business run by myself - Jen. 

I have always had a passion for crafting - especially fabric based.  Having studied for a degree in textiles and food at University I then went on to complete a teacher training diploma and taught and managed a Home Economics faculty for 26 years.  

An opportunity came up to take on the lease of this beautiful granite shop in the heart of the High Street in Banchory in 2022 so I jumped ship and had a mid life career change.  

I still find my teaching skills put to good use helping customers with their projects and give advice and tips.  

It is especially encouraging seeing young crafters enjoying new hobbies.

Always happy to give advice on projects, colour choices etc.
